The Values Surveys consist of data collected by the World Values Survey (WVS) and the European Values Study (EVS) in 1981, 1990, 1995 and 1999-2004.
The range of topics includes perceptions of life, environment, work, family and marriage, politics and society, religion and morality, and national identity. All the Values Surveys were harmonized into a common framework to facilitate comparative analysis over place (more than ninety countries!) and time (more than thirty years!). At present, the Values Surveys 1999-2004 data file as included in the source book
Human Beliefs and Values is being offered for download. The full four-wave (1981, 1990, 1995 and 1999-2004) data file will be available before the end of 2005 and a preliminary version can already be analyzed on line. ASEP-JDS is the official archive for WVS, and makes the Values Surveys files available in collaboration with EVS and Zentral Archiv in Cologne.
